As a therapist, my approach is primarily psychodynamic, which places emphasis on unconscious psychological processes. However, I have also trained in skills-based therapies such as CBT and DBT.

My diploma training covered a range of different therapies and techniques and this has been supplemented throughout my career with regular CPD.

My career, spanning over 20 years, has been varied, including work in the private and third sectors, alongside working as a self-employed psychotherapist and hypnotherapist. I now work full time from my own office in the centre of Burnley, offering face to face and online sessions for adults and adolescents.

I have extensive experience of working with clients who have been diagnosed with BPD/EUPD and bi-polar disorder. As a result, I have experience of working within the Family Court, providing therapy as per their recommendations. I can provide reports on engagement in and progress through therapy, however, I do not provide the expert witness reports.

My own experience of therapy was six months of CAT at Guys’ Hospital in London. This not only helped me work through my own difficulties at the time, but also formed the basis of my own approach when working with clients.

My interests are in forensic psychology, the work of Carl Jung, research into new treatments for voice hearers and the links between work and poor mental health.

I am a full member of the National Register of Hypnotherapists and Psychotherapists, who are an organisational member of UKCP. I am also registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council and a Graduate member of the British Psychological Society.

I have regular supervision with a UKCP accredited supervisor and hold full professional liability insurance.
